Fun Stuff From Needlework Hideaway!

CORRECTIONS!!

My apologies to Pat Starks for spelling her name wrong and to Kathy Schenkel for giving credit for her design to A Collection of Designs. Don’t know wehre my brain went while I was working on this…

These pieces were finished by Pat Stark, a regular at Needlework Hideaway, after we had a talk about finishing and a demo of finishing needlepoint canvases. Isn’t it great when someone takes what you’ve shown them and creates such fun pieces!

Pat wanted a different finish for this cute little chick and the "Gift" finishing technique was just what she needed!

The canvas for the class, Beading on Canvas,  is by Janet B. of A Collection of Designs, the beads are Miyuki delica beads and the background thread is ThreadworX. Tracey of  Threaded Needle Designs taught the students how to stitch the beads to canvas without over-crowding as a part of this fun class.

Pat stitched this beaded Ladybug in Tracey's class and then followed my quick finishing demo to create a lovely fob for her scissor!

Each Needlework Hideaway we see stitchers complete or come close to completing their class projects or a project or two they bring from home. We’ve told you all about how fun Hideaway and the Red Apple Inn are. Now you can see how productive te weekend is as well. See past class projects and sign up for our email list to learn all about next Hideaway’s classes at Needlework Hideaway.

Maybe I’ll have some photos from my class, Explorations, on the next blog. I know several people completed their piece at Hideaway or got within a few hours of completion. Anyone got a photo?

Of course all the items you see on each of the websites above are available here. Call or search the site for more information on each of them.

Until next time, keep stitchin’!

Pat
