I’ve been watching this from afar for some time now and am so delighted that this reproduction happened in my lifetime. We all need to remember how important our needlework is to the history of mankind. It takes many people participating in many projects to create a cultural event and we are all a part of that. This jacket is a shining example of the dedication of the current generation of needleworkers and will stand as a testimony to our love for the rich heritage of our craft.
Please, please, each time you say “oh, I do a little cross stitch” remember that your enjoyment and creativity are part of a much larger mosaic of our times and show your accomplishments with pride in your contribution. Each stitched piece is important in the grand scheme of things!
